Transizione energetica, studio ANAV: i bus incidono sulle emissioni solo per lo 0,7%
Evidenziata l’importanza dello shift modale come catalizzatore per la decarbonizzazione
ANAV, l’Associazione del trasporto di passeggeri con autobus di Confindustria, ha presentato i risultati di uno studio condotto da RINA sulla transizione energetica nel settore dei trasporti pubblici locali.
Lo studio evidenzia l’importanza dello shift modale, ovvero il passaggio dalla mobilità privata al trasporto collettivo, come catalizzatore per la decarbonizzazione.
Sfide nella transizione energetica
“Il totale degli autobus in circolazione sul territorio nazionale incide solo per lo 0,7% delle emissioni climalteranti – ha sottolineato il Presidente di ANAV, Nicola Biscotti, riprendendo lo studio di RINA -, mentre la sola realizzazione dell’obiettivo di shift modale previsto nel PNRR, ovvero di trasferimento alla mobilità collettiva del 10% della mobilità privata motorizzata, sarebbe in grado di realizzare un risultato doppio, cioè pari alla riduzione del 1,7% del totale delle emissioni climalteranti”.
Nel breve e medio termine, l’introduzione di veicoli a zero emissioni nel parco veicolare del trasporto pubblico è soggetta a vincoli tecnologici, infrastrutturali e costi elevati. Il report evidenzia che i veicoli di ultima generazione con alimentazione tradizionale o ibrida possono rappresentare un’alternativa valida, insieme alle opportunità offerte dai biocarburanti.
Tuttavia, i prezzi dell’energia, come il metano e l’elettricità, rimangono più alti rispetto alle alimentazioni tradizionali, costituendo una sfida da affrontare.
Approccio graduale e necessità di ampliare le offerte
L’approccio graduale alla transizione energetica è visto come la soluzione migliore per aumentare la qualità del servizio e l’attrattiva del trasporto pubblico. Ciò implica l’adozione di tecnologie tradizionali supportate da combustibili a basso impatto carbonico, insieme alle nuove tecnologie a zero emissioni.
Inoltre, lo studio identifica l’ampliamento delle tipologie di bus e l’acquisizione di competenze relative ai veicoli come sfide centrali che richiedono l’attenzione del settore per consentire l’adozione piena delle nuove tecnologie.
