Italferr: accordo per le ferrovie in Siria
Sarà una società mista tra Italferr (Gruppo Fs) e Chemins de Fer Syrien (Cfs) a fornire, nei prossimi anni, servizi di ingegneria ferroviaria alla Siria e ai Paesi del Medio Oriente. La partnership rientra nell’accordo di cooperazione sottoscritto a Damasco, in Siria, da Mauro Moretti, amministratore delegato delle Ferrovie dello Stato, e Georges Mokabari, direttore generale delle ferrovie siriane (Chemins de Fer Syrien). Presenti il ministro dei Trasporti siriano Yaroub Badr, l’ambasciatore d’Italia in Siria Achille Amerio e l’ad di Italferr Renato Casale.
Ingegneri e tecnici di Italferr già dal 2000 lavorano insieme ai colleghi siriani al potenziamento e ammodernamento dell’infrastruttura ferroviaria esistente, soprattutto agli standard di sicurezza e al comfort del sistema trasporti stico siriano. Tra l’autunno 2008 e la primavera 2009, Italferr e i tecnici siriani ha redatto lo studio di fattibilità per il potenziamento infrastrutturale e tecnologico della linea Aleppo-Damasco, principale asse ferroviario della Siria. Il Paese, a forte vocazione turistica, è interessato da importanti investimenti per lo sviluppo delle linee in previsione sia di un sostenuto sviluppo dell’industria turistica, sia dei flussi di traffico merci dal Far East. La situazione socio-politica dell’Iraq e del Medio Oriente pone, infatti, la Siria al centro dei corridoi commerciali ferroviari e marittimi alternativi al Canale di Suez, ormai giunto a livello di saturazione.
