Emissioni di CO2: 30% in meno con i pneumatici ricostruiti
Utilizzare un pneumatico ricostruito piuttosto che un nuovo pneumatico comporta un risparmio del 30% delle emissioni di CO2 legate alla realizzazione dei due prodotti. È quanto emerge da uno studio condotto da Best Foot Forward (http://www.bestfootforward.com), autorevole ente britannico specializzato in analisi ecologiche e “dell’impronta di carbonio” che ha sede ad Oxford e che nel 2005 ha ricevuto, tra l’altro, il premio della Regina per lo sviluppo sostenibile (Queen’s Awards for Sustainable Development). Questo ente – informa Airp (Associazione Italiana Ricostruttori di Pneumatici) in una nota – ha già determinato 300 “impronte di carbonio” di attività produttive. L’impronta di carbonio corrisponde alle emissioni di CO2 rilasciate nel corso di un processo manifatturiero. In particolare, per i pneumatici, lo studio del Best Foot Forward fa riferimento ad un pneumatico per veicolo commerciale da 17,5 pollici e mette in evidenza come, per produrne uno nuovo, vi sono emissioni di CO2 di 86,9 chilogrammi, mentre per ricostruirlo le emissioni sono soltanto di 60,5 kg, e quindi vi è un risparmio di 26,4 kg di emissioni, pari, come si è detto, al 30%. Come è noto, sulla base del protocollo di Kyoto, sia in Europa che in Italia vi è una grandissima attenzione al contenimento delle emissioni di CO2 in quanto questo gas è ritenuto responsabile, (insieme ad altri gas ad effetto serra) dell’innalzamento della temperatura sul pianeta, fenomeno, questo, che può avere effetti particolarmente negativi sul clima e sull’ambiente. Una concreta dimostrazione della grande attenzione, anche in Italia, per il contenimento delle emissioni di CO2 è il fatto che il Parlamento sta attualmente esaminando il disegno di legge Lulli, Ghiglia e Scalera per favorire la mobilità mediante veicoli a basse emissioni di CO2. Nel testo licenziato in sede referente dalla Commissione delle Attività produttive, commercio e turismo della Camera dei Deputati, il provvedimento prevede di riconoscere, a partire dal 1° gennaio 2013, agevolazioni per l’acquisto di veicoli con ridotte emissioni di CO2. Perché ciò avvenga è ovviamente necessario che entro questa data il disegno di legge abbia completato il suo iter parlamentare, iter durante il quale sarebbe ancora possibile (oltre che molto opportuno) introdurre un incentivo anche per l’impiego di pneumatici ricostruiti che, come si è visto, danno un contributo anche al contenimento delle emissioni di CO2.
