Trieste, da scalo commerciale a hub umanitario per aiutare le popolazioni colpite dal terremoto
Il porto di Trieste, e parte del territorio regionale, stanno diventando un punto di raccolta e smistamento di aiuti umanitari destinati alle popolazioni colpite dal recente terremoto in Turchia.
Grazie ai collegamenti marittimi già in essere fra Trieste e la Turchia, la comunità portuale si è attivata per coordinare il flusso di merci che saranno raccolte e smistate in Friuli Venezia Giulia. La Piattaforma logistica del porto di Trieste sarà il punto di raccolta per semirimorchi e container che partiranno verso il porto di Mersin almeno tre volte a settimana.
Inoltre, grazie al coordinamento dell’Autorità di Sistema Portuale e della Protezione Civile FVG, il porto giuliano diventa un vero e proprio hub per gli aiuti, riunendo l’apporto dei diversi soggetti coinvolti.
Mersin: lo scalo di destinazione dei beni di emergenza
Mersin, scalo di destinazione lungo la storica Autostrada del Mare, con 15 collegamenti settimanali Ro-Ro tocca anche Pendik e Cesme, diventa il punto di approdo per le navi che trasporteranno i beni di emergenza.
È già partita la nave Dardanelles Seaways (DFDS), che ha segnalato la disponibilità al trasporto di 20 casette abitative di emergenza e altri beni. Su ogni nave, tre volte la settimana, saranno riservate 20 unità di carico per la Protezione Civile. Grazie all’attività del Consolato in collaborazione con l’Agenzia delle Dogane, l’imbarco degli aiuti umanitari sta seguendo una procedura particolarmente snella.
Al porto di Trieste e presso la sede di Palmanova della Protezione Civile FVG, si stanno raccogliendo gli aiuti provenienti da tutta Italia. I trasporti sono garantiti da Autamarocchi che sta mettendo a disposizione i propri mezzi per trasferire i generi di primo soccorso da Palmanova al porto di Trieste e, una volta in Turchia, dal porto di Mersin alle piattaforme logistiche di destinazione.
