Messina: inaugurata la Galleria San Jachiddu
È stata inaugurata ieri a Messina, alla presenza del Ministro delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti Altero Matteoli, del sindaco di Messina, Giuseppe Buzzanca e del Presidente dell’Anas Pietro Ciucci, la galleria naturale ‘San Jachiddu’, lunga 1096 metri, che collegherà il viale Annunziata e il viale ‘Giostra’.
“L’opera che si inaugura oggi – ha affermato il Ministro delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti, Altero Matteoli – è una parte significativa di un’infrastruttura più ampia che darà benefici importanti alla circolazione della città di Messina, determinando così un miglioramento alla qualità della vita dei messinesi. Devo dare atto all’amministrazione civica di Messina e al sindaco Buzzanca di aver compiuto scelte efficaci per sbloccare la realizzazione di quest’opera ferma per inghippi burocratici, e non solo, da diversi anni. E devo complimentarmi con Anas che sta rispettando il cronoprogramma dei tempi di realizzazione di un’opera che sarà completa entro la prossima estate”.
La galleria fa parte degli interventi infrastrutturali che renderanno i collegamenti interni molto più fluidi e rientrano nel più ampio progetto delle opere a terra per la realizzazione del ponte sullo stretto, e farà da collettore con lo svincolo di Giostra.
Lo svincolo autostradale Giostra, I e II lotto, comprende la realizzazione di 14 viadotti principali e 2 viadotti minori per una lunghezza di oltre 3,7 km, oltre a due tratti in rilevato in corrispondenza del collegamento con viale Giostra e uno in corrispondenza della rampa di immissione all’autostrada A20, in direzione Palermo.
Si tratta di un intervento infrastrutturale frutto di una notevole collaborazione e sinergia fra il Comune e l’Anas: infatti, il Sindaco della Città di Messina, in qualità di Commissario Delegato, ha concordato che l’Anas S.p.A. provvedesse allo svolgimento delle attività connesse alla realizzazione delle opere in carico al Comune di Messina.
“L’apertura della galleria, a doppio senso di marcia – ha affermato il Presidente dell’Anas Pietro Ciucci –, è una risposta concreta all’emergenza traffico che, come per tutti i grandi centri urbani, assedia la città di Messina. L’obiettivo è completare lo svincolo di Giostra entro l’estate 2011″.
