Daniel Liberskind progetterà le opere del Ponte sullo Stretto
L’archistar Daniel Libeskind progetterà le principali opere connesse al Ponte sullo Stretto di Messina. Lo rende noto la società Stretto di Messina, annunciando che l’amministratore delegato Pietro Ciucci ha già incontrato l’architetto polacco. Secondo Ciucci le opere, che riguardano la sponda calabrese del Ponte, “aprono nuovi scenari non solo per l’area polifunzionale, destinata ad ospitare strutture espositive, commerciali, congressuali ed alberghiere, ma anche per il lungomare di Villa San Giovanni”. Gli interventi riguardano in particolare l’area del centro direzionale in località Piale (frazione di Villa), la fascia dal blocco di ancoraggio alla torre del ponte in località Cannitello e, appunto, lo stesso lungomare Cenide della cittadina.
L’architetto Daniel Liberskind vanta un curriculum interessante: si è aggiudicato la costruzione del nuovo Wto a New York, e ha realizzato il Museo ebraico di Berlino e la London Metropolitan University di Londra. Dalla sua pena sono nate anche le case-scultura per il nuovo quartiere Citylife di Milano. L’ad Pietro Ciucci ha precisato che “il progetto potrebbe essere arricchito con alcuni interventi sul lato messinese, nel segno della continuità tra le due coste. Si tratta nel complesso di una ulteriore grande opportunità per valorizzare il territorio dal punto di vista paesaggistico e urbanistico e, nell’ottica dell’effetto Ponte come laboratorio scientifico, anche per la crescita professionale”.
