Chiusura del Monte Bianco: nuovi attriti Francia-Italia
La necessità di creare una seconda canna del traforo non è condivisa dai francesi
Dopo l’acceso scambio sul fronte tav Torino-Lione, si apre un altro fronte caldo tra Italia e Francia. La chiusura programmata del traforo del Monte Bianco.
Il tunnel, inaugurato il 19 luglio 1965, necessita di importanti lavori di manutenzione, a partire dal risanamento della volta e la società mista di gestione, il Geie, ha previsto delle interruzioni al traffico per 3-4 mesi all’anno fino al 2041 (la prima, per un cantiere-test, dal 4 settembre al 18 dicembre prossimi).
La decisione ha creato scompiglio sul versante italiano per le pesanti ricadute che potrebbero generarsi sul traffico. La Società italiana per il traforo del Monte Bianco (Sitmb), partecipata al 51% da Autostrade per l’Italia si è già attivata alla richiesta di realizzare una seconda canna del traforo, ma in Francia l’opinione generale delle istituzioni è molto negativa.
La contrarietà della Francia
Il ministro ai Trasporti, Clément Beaune, soli pochi mesi fa aveva detto: “Il raddoppio del tunnel non è di attualità”.
La politica dei trasporti transalpina, spiega il sindaco di Chamonix Eric Fournier, punta tutto sulla ferrovia e chiude alla gomma.
Una visione più ampia sul trasporto merci di domani è anche la richiesta del presidente della regione Alvernia-Rodano-Alpi, Laurent Wauquiez.
Emissioni industriali, trasporti e inversione termica fanno sì che lo smog ai piedi del Monte Bianco raggiunga spesso i livelli delle metropoli europee, per questa ragione il problema inquinamento è molto sentito in questa zona della Francia.
