Staf Transports: col cambio automatico meno consumi
Un test di 12 mesi realizzato da Staf Transports, uno dei principali gruppi di distribuzione di alimenti refrigerati di Parigi, ha confermato la grande efficienza dei consumi dei camion frigo allestiti con trasmissioni completamente automatiche Allison. Staf Transports, che opera una flotta di oltre 350 veicoli e rifornisce i principali supermercati di Parigi, dal 2008 ha iniziato a introdurre i cambi automatici Allison della Serie 3000 nei suoi veicoli da 19 tonnellate. Al momento, i camion allestiti sono 20, compresi cinque Renault Premium acquistati lo scorso anno.
Dal giugno 2009 al giugno 2010, i veicoli allestiti con i cambi Allison hanno lavorato fianco a fianco dei Renault Premium allestiti con le trasmissioni automatizzate. I dati sui consumi di carburante e sulla produttività (carico utile) sono stati raccolti elettronicamente. Grazie alla loro maggiore efficienza ottenuta dalla combinazione del convertitore di coppia e del powershift, i camion con cambi automatici Allison sono stati abbinati a un motore Dxi7 da 320hp, con quattro litri in meno rispetto al Dxi11 da 370hp utilizzato dal resto della flotta (allestita con cambi automatizzati). I test comparativi, eseguiti quotidianamente sugli effettivi percorsi di servizio in Parigi, hanno dimostrato un consumo di carburante medio di 28 l/100km per gli Allison contro i 36,4 l/100 km per gli automatizzati, risparmio ottenuto senza alcuna diminuzione di produttività o prestazioni.
L’utilizzo di motori con una cilindrata inferiore nei veicoli equipaggiati con cambi Allison consente di risparmiare il 17% di carburante; a questo risultato, già di per sé eccellente, si aggiunge un ulteriore risparmio del 7% grazie all’applicazione dei più recenti pacchetti di ottimizzazione Allison che includono nuove funzioni quali l’Lbss (Load Based Shift Scheduling). Il sistema Lbss di Allison seleziona automaticamente la modalità “economy” o “performance” sulla base del carico utile reale del veicolo e della topografia del percorso.
Ma i vantaggi dell’utilizzo dei cambi completamente automatici Allison non finiscono qui. Con entrambe le mani sul volante, i conducenti si possono concentrare sul traffico cittadino per rispettare i tempi di consegna. Inoltre, la silenziosità della trasmissione è particolarmente apprezzata quando le consegne nelle aree urbane densamente popolate si svolgono 24 ore su 24, di giorno e di notte. Ugualmente importante per l’efficienza logistica è l’affidabilità e la durata della trasmissione Allison, dato che un’avaria a un veicolo per il trasporto di alimenti refrigerati può comportare la perdita della merce entro tempi brevissimi.
